Terroir

Produced in limited quantities, it comes from olives harvested on carefully selected farms at an early stage of ripeness (at the very beginning of veraison).

It thus retains all the unique properties of extra virgin olive oil, its intense aromas and flavors.

Producer

Extra virgin olive oil "Reserve Familial" is the emblem of superior quality and the pride of the family owning the "Almazara Cruz de Esteban" olive oil mill.

The extraction of extra virgin olive oil is carried out using mechanical processes at low temperatures, which allows for a powerful and complex aroma that makes this oil truly unique. It is then continuously filtered immediately after production, thus guaranteeing the preservation of all its properties and extending its shelf life to the maximum.

Sensory Experience

A Picual variety, native to the province of Jaén (Andalusia), this limited edition early harvest (only 3,000 bottles) is obtained from rigorously selected olive trees between mid and late October.

With a captivating bright green color, this extra virgin olive oil presents harmony and complexity both on the nose and in the mouth.

On the nose, it reveals an intense green fruitiness with vegetable and herbaceous notes, highlighting aromas of olive leaf, fresh grass, tomato plant, banana peel, and artichoke stem, among others.

In the mouth, it stands out for its great intensity of flavors, with sensory nuances identical to those perceived on the nose. It presents a moderate but pleasant bitterness and pungency, accompanied by a slight astringency reminiscent of artichoke leaf.

Taste it "plain" first, you'll understand :)

Food pairings

It pairs perfectly with garlic and spice-based vinaigrettes, grilled vegetables, bread dipped in olive oil and topped with freshly cut tomatoes, as well as seasoned salads, aged cheeses, or gazpacho.

How should I store my extra virgin olive oil?

The three enemies of extra virgin olive oil are heat, air, and light...

  1. Choose opaque bottles (never transparent!) and avoid direct contact with light.
  2. Keep your oil in a dark, cool place and avoid exposing it to a heat source if not necessary (oven or other cooking area).
  3. Depending on your consumption rate, try not to keep too many half-used bottles for too long (the air inside accelerates oil oxidation). A few weeks is still okay.

Filtered or unfiltered, which one to choose?

Filtered or unfiltered, which to choose?

Always choose filtered olive oil.

Suspended particles (residues of skin, pulp, or pit) accelerate the natural oxidation of the oil and contribute to a more rapid degradation of its aromatic qualities and its polyphenol content.
